British Championship Update

Following the announcement that Motorsport UK intended to take the promotion and running of the British Kart Championships back in house for the next 3 years, forming a Karting UK Operations team consisting of Richard Lock, Nigel Edwards, Danielle Short and Mick Barrett each bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team it is fantastic to see the unprecedented support from the Karting community with 534 driver registrations and over 50 race teams supporting the championship.

The IAME round planned for Larkhall 7th-9thJune has now been confirmed along with the Whilton Mill Rotax round that has been moved to GYG on 20th-21stJuly due to the unfortunate clash with the Rotax World Finals.

The fast and very exciting KZ2 class is proving popular with registrations exceeding original expectations with 38 drivers signing up for the championship to date.  The grid will consist not only of talent from within the UK but they will also be joined by Italian Fabian Federer and German David Trefilov from the SRP Racing Team.

The new British Karting Championships not only have former and current British title holders but also a host of former European and World Champions making it the place to race in 2019.

There are still limited registration places available so not too late to join this new and exciting British Championship format.
